Camp & Rides

May 7,8, & 9          Mother's Day Weekend - Shelf Road Recreation Area

This vast and complex trail network on BLM land includes 4 wheel drive roads, old ranch roads, and single track paths.  The terrain varies from large, open meadows to abrupt, rocky canyons.  Juniper, Pinon Pine, and Scrub Oak  will swap with ponderosa pine and aspen in moister valleys, but the overall feeling is that of high desert.  This area is located north of Canon City.  More information will be posted.  Questions? email us

June 25, 26 & 27 - Deer Haven - NW of Canon City

July 8, 9, 10 & 11     Cruces Basin Wilderness - New Mexico

The dates for this ride are July 8,9,10 & 11th. We’ll ride out of base camp each day including a pm ride on the 8th, day rides on the 9th & 10th, am ride on departure day, July 11th. There will be a pot luck supper each evening.

This is some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen. Pristine country with meadows of grass, aspen & pines, stock tanks for horse water 1/4 mile from base camp.  Should plenty of green grass to graze our horses but do plan to bring feed as well.  Do bring your own horse and people water.

The riding is fairly easy terrain, hilly in places but not real steep, most at an elevation of 9000+. Days are warm and nights are wonderfully cool. Very few bugs to deal with either. Be sure to bring a fishing pole and your camera too! Deer and elk abound. For more Information contact is Alicia Morrison is leading this ride.  Weed Free Hay Required.  RSVP Required!
